U.S. Warns Nigerians: Visa Fraud Will Lead to Lifetime Ban and Criminal Charges

The United States Mission in Nigeria has issued a stern warning against visa fraud, declaring that individuals found guilty of such offenses will face a lifetime ban from entering the United States and may also face criminal prosecution.

In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, the Mission emphasized the U.S. government's unwavering commitment to fighting fraud and curbing illegal immigration through coordinated interagency efforts./p>

"U.S. government interagency efforts combat fraud and will end illegal immigration. Those who commit visa fraud will be banned from the United States for life," the post read.

The Mission further stressed that authorities will not only deny entry to those involved in visa-related deceit but will also pursue criminal charges." "We will pursue criminal charges against those who engage in visa fraud and those who bring in and harbour illegal aliens," it added.

Reinforcing the gravity of its warning, the Mission declared:
